On October 1, Consul General Qin Jie attended a commemorative event for Dr. Kotnis organized by the Dr. Kotnis Memorial Committee. Approximately 100 people attended the event, including members of the committee, Dr. Kotnis's family members, and representatives from his hometown.

Mr. Qin said that today coincides with China's National Day, making it all the more inspiring and moving to honor the glorious deeds of Dr. Kotnis. He emphasized that Dr. Kotnis traveled tens of thousands of miles to China to support the Chinese people's just cause against Japanese aggression and ultimately sacrificed his young life. His moving story and noble character will forever be etched in the hearts of the Chinese people. Qin stated that we should inherit his spirit of internationalism, work together to implement the Global Security Initiative, adhere to the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security, and earnestly safeguard international peace and security while promoting global development and prosperity. Qin further pointed out that Dr. Kotnis is a symbol of China-India friendship. China is willing to work with India to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both nations and further promote the cause of China-India friendship.

The national anthems of China and India were played. The attending guests paid tribute to the life and deeds of Dr. Kotnis and extended their congratulations on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
