On September 29, Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai held China-India BRICS Dialogue Seminar in Bengaluru. Consul General Qin Jie attended the event and delivered a keynote speech. Representatives from mainstream India media and scholars participated in the seminar.

Mr. Qin said that BRICS cooperation mechanism continues to grow and expand, becoming the most influential platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries, as well as an important engine for global economic growth. During President Xi Jinping’s visit to India for the 18th BRICS Summit, he reaffirmed the significance of the four major global initiatives and proposed that BRICS countries serve as “four pioneers” in promoting innovative development, safeguarding peace and stability, fostering mutual learning among civilizations, and reforming and improving global governance. This elevated the strategic positioning of BRICS cooperation and bolstered the resolve and confidence of BRICS nations to seek strength through unity. China will assume the BRICS chairmanship next year and is willing to strengthen collaboration with India under the BRICS framework to elevate high-quality “Greater BRICS Cooperation” to a new level. Qin emphasized that China and India should implement the important common understanding reached by the leaders of both countries, remain partners rather than rivals, advance bilateral relations, accelerate their respective development and revitalization, and contribute to peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
