On January 16, Consul General Qin Jie met with Chinese pianist Lang Lang and Indian conductor Zubin Mehta, who gave a performance at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai.

Mr. Qin congratulated the artists on the success of their performance and thanked them for their remarkable contributions to China-India art exchanges. Mr. Qin said that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders, China-India relations have been growing in a positive direction, which is very encouraging. It is hoped that artists will seize the new opportunities of China's 15th Five-Year Plan to strengthen cooperation and exchanges and further promote people-to-people bonds.

This is Lang Lang's return to Mumbai 17 years after his last performance. This special performance was held in honor of Zubin Mehta's 90th birthday and was warmly received by the audience.
