On 17th April, Consul General Kong Xianhua met the Bangalorean writer Jayaprakash Satyamurthy.

Satyamurthy said that China and India have similar cultures. The literary and artistic works from both countries can always resonate with the people of each other. The two countries have ancient history and colorful cultures and experience a long history of exchanges. Amazed by extensive and profound Chinese civilzation, I hope to have the opportunity to visit China, explore more historical and contemporary Chinese stories and write more inspiring stories to both Chinese and Indian readers.

Kong said that history and culture are the source of literary and artistic creation. The thousand-year history of China and India contains a lot of wisdom that remains to be discovered. The story of China-India friendship deserves to be vigorously promoted. Writers from the two countries should promote exchanges and present the real China and India to readers in an objective way. This is the best way to promote mutual understanding and people-to-people connectivity.
