On Aug 12th , Consul General Kong Xianhua attended Azadi Ka Amrit at invitation by Government of Maharashtra. CM Eknath Shinde, DCM Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Secretary Manukumar Srivastava as well as representatives from the government and the Consular Corps were present.

Consul General Kong congratulated H.E. Ekanth Shinde and H.E. Devendra Fadnavis on assumption of new posts and highly praised the achievements India has made since the independence. He also shared the views of Mr. Shinde and Fadnavis that it is important to enhance economic and cultural cooperation between Maharashtra and other countries. Kong further stressed that the Chinese Consulate General will work with friends from Maharashtra for the goal of building the state into a “One- Trillion-USD Economy”.

The Consular Corps in Mumbai congratulated CG Kong on his assumption of duty and expressed willingness to strengthen communication with the Chinese Consulate General.
